Singapore visa requirements depend on the passport you travel with. Check your nationality first: visa-required travellers need an entry visa before travel, while many other short-stay visitors only need the free SG Arrival Card. ICA makes the final decision.

Which route applies?

A visit visa and the SG Arrival Card are two different things, and people pay for the wrong one all the time — the Arrival Card is free. Work out which one your trip actually needs before you spend anything.

Check your passport first

Run your nationality through the checker and ICA's own guidance before you assume you need Form 14A. If you are visa-free for a short visit, you do not need a paid visa service — do not let anyone sell you one.

Prepare Form 14A if a visa is required

If your passport needs a visa, you complete Form 14A, get the supporting documents to agree with each other, and file through a route ICA permits. Who is allowed to file for you is the part most people get stuck on — the country page spells out your options.

Submit the free SG Arrival Card

The SG Arrival Card is a free arrival declaration, not a visa. Most people clearing Singapore immigration submit it within the three days before they land; ICA lists the exceptions.

Indian ordinary passport holders generally need a Singapore entry visa before ordinary short-visit travel; visa on arrival is not available. Start with the live ICA India page, prepare Form 14A in English, keep passport, photo, funds, accommodation and travel dates consistent, then submit the free SG Arrival Card separately if clearing immigration. VFTF is only for qualifying third-country transit routes, not a backup tourist visa.

Whether you need a visa, when the SG Arrival Card applies, the S$30 government fee, and every entry decision come from ICA — no one else can overrule them. We link the official page wherever a claim on our site rests on one.

A Mission can be the route

A visa application still has to reach ICA through a channel it permits. For travellers with no contact in Singapore, the relevant Singapore Overseas Mission — or an agent it has appointed — is often that channel.

We own the Form 14A

That leaves the part between the rules and the decision: a Form 14A filled in correctly, documents that match it, and submission through an eligible route. That is our job. The verdict is still ICA's.

Travel booking and visa filing are separate

Flights, hotels and insurance do not establish a permitted Form 14A filing route. Verify that route only against current ICA guidance or the relevant Singapore MFA Mission before paying or filing.

Doing it yourself

Genuinely fine if you hold a real Singapore contact with Singpass or Corppass and your documents line up. What sinks a DIY case is a borrowed sponsor or a copied template — a weak filing can do more harm than no filing.

To check Singapore e-Visa status, open ICA SAVE and enter the application reference with the travel-document number. A passport or travel-document number on its own is not enough. If the visa is approved, get the e-Visa copy from the person or organisation that filed the application, or through the permitted ICA route. Do I need a Singapore visa or only the SG Arrival Card?

It depends on the passport or travel document you use. Visa-free travellers usually need the free SG Arrival Card before clearing immigration; visa-required travellers need an entry visa prepared before travel as well as the SG Arrival Card where applicable.

Is VisatoSingapore an official government website?

No. VisatoSingapore is not ICA or a Government of Singapore website. It provides independent Form 14A preparation and filing support for eligible entry-visa applications. ICA makes the final visa and entry decisions.

Can a hotel booking replace a Singapore local contact?

A hotel booking can show where you plan to stay, but it is not automatically a Singapore local contact or filing route. If ICA, a Mission, or the application route requires a local contact or Letter of Introduction, use a real eligible contact or an authorised route.

Do you file work, study, or family passes from this hub?
