Singapore visa rejection reasons: what to fix before you reapply
Short answer

ICA does not disclose the reason for a visa rejection because that information is confidential. A document error you find afterwards is something to correct, not proof of why ICA refused your application. First obtain the actual result and the copy of the file that was submitted.
The useful next question is whether the case should be appealed through the original filing route or replaced with a genuinely corrected application. Do not pay to resubmit the same file until you know who filed it, which documents ICA received and what has materially changed.
What the official result tells you
Confirm the result through ICA SAVE using the application reference and travel-document number, or ask the local contact, authorised agent or Singapore Overseas Mission route that filed Form 14A. A message from an unrelated status website is not an ICA refusal record.
A refusal does not create a universal waiting period and it does not explain the reason. It also does not mean that a paid SG Arrival Card, a different website or a new application number will repair the case.
Review the file before an appeal or new application
ICA does not say that one item below was the reason for a particular refusal. These are preparation checks: compare the passport biodata page, Form 14A, photograph and every route-specific document requested by ICA or the relevant Mission. Names, travel-document numbers, dates of birth, travel dates and Singapore addresses should agree across the file.

When checking Form 14A, distinguish a visa rejection from refusal of entry or deportation. The prior-entry question concerns entry to Singapore using a different name, sex, nationality/citizenship or date of birth; a renewed passport number alone is not that event. Read each question against the actual record and correct errors. If unsure, ask your filing party. See the Part IV explanation.
Check the permitted filing route as carefully as the documents. A real local contact, Form V39A / LOI or Mission-appointed authorised agent must match the current country procedure; a hotel address or a purchased contact does not create a valid submitter.
Appeal or submit a corrected application?
ICA's current FAQ says an appeal may be submitted through its visa enquiry route within one month of the rejection. The requested material includes the passport biodata page, a reconsideration letter signed by the local contact with the reason for reconsideration, supporting documents and the local contact's NRIC date of issue. Use the original authorised route where the Mission requires it.
A fresh application is not a shortcut around an appeal. Use it only when the permitted route is clear and the facts or documents have been materially corrected. There is no safe universal rule that every rejected applicant must wait the same number of days or months before reapplying.
For applications filed in Bangladesh
The Singapore High Commission in Dhaka says it will not reveal the reason for rejection and that a Bangladeshi applicant may submit an appeal for reassessment through the Authorised Visa Agent that handled the application. Ask that agent for the application reference, the exact file they submitted and the current appeal instructions.
Use the live Dhaka Mission page to verify the agent list and procedure. Do not send passport data or payment to an agency simply because it advertises a guaranteed appeal or approval.
Example: you find a date mismatch after a refusal
Suppose the submitted Form 14A says arrival on 20 October, but the accommodation evidence starts on 22 October. This is a teaching example, not a client case or an explanation of an ICA decision. Establish what the true plan was: missing accommodation, an incorrectly entered date or a later change to the trip.
Compare the submitted copy with the genuine booking and itinerary. Keep a short record of the field that was wrong, the correct information and the document supporting it. Ask the original filing route whether to provide that material in an appeal or a new application. Do not invent accommodation for the missing nights or describe the mismatch as ICA's confirmed reason.
If an appeal is appropriate, check ICA's one-month filing window immediately; preparing corrections does not pause it. Correct documents do not guarantee a changed decision. For a new application, read the actual Form 14A questions and answer them truthfully; do not assume a visa rejection is a refusal of entry.
Where VisatoSingapore can help
VisatoSingapore is an independent preparation and application-support service. We cannot obtain the confidential rejection reason, decide an appeal or promise approval. We can compare the available file with Form 14A and the current route, identify inconsistencies and help prepare a corrected eligible application where our service applies.
For a new supported application, our usual service estimate remains 3–4 working days after submission to ICA. That estimate does not apply to an ICA appeal, does not replace a Mission timeline and is not a promise of approval or entry. Work, study and family-pass cases use different ICA or MOM routes.
