Singapore visa status results: pending, approved or refused

A Singapore entry-visa result tells you what happened to a Form 14A application. Pending means ICA has not issued a final result. Approved means an e-Visa has been issued. Refused means the application did not result in a visa. An unavailable result can also mean that the reference details do not match or that the application is not yet visible in the enquiry.

Pending or under review is not an approval and does not reveal when ICA will decide. Ask the filer whether ICA requested more information, and avoid submitting a duplicate application unless ICA or the original filer tells you to do so.

Approved means the entry visa was issued electronically. Check the name, travel-document number and validity on the e-Visa copy before travel. Refused means no visa was issued; ICA generally does not publish a reason in the status result. If SAVE cannot find the application, first recheck the application reference and travel-document number exactly as filed, then ask the filer to confirm that the application was submitted.

A separate self-service login is not required for the public SAVE enquiry, but the reference number is. If the submitter has not given it to you, ask for it before using any third-party checker or starting a duplicate application.

For visa-required travellers, an approved Singapore visa is normally issued electronically. The local contact, strategic partner or authorised visa agent can print the e-Visa copy through the permitted route, and the traveller should carry it with the passport.

An approved e-Visa lets you travel to Singapore and seek entry. It still does not guarantee admission or a fixed stay; ICA officers at the checkpoint decide entry and issue the Visit Pass / e-Pass period.

India, Pakistan and Bangladesh status searches often mix country, residence and filing route. The status path still depends on who submitted Form 14A and what reference details were issued. A Bangladeshi applicant in the UAE, for example, should not use a generic UAE-resident promise if the application was filed under a Bangladeshi passport route.

For UAE or GCC resident searches, separate residence from passport nationality. A visa-free passport holder may not have a Form 14A status to check at all, while an Indian, Pakistani or Bangladeshi passport holder living in Dubai or Doha may still need the entry-visa route and the submitter's e-Visa retrieval process.

The e-Visa is the printable result of an approved pre-travel entry-visa application. SG Arrival Card is a separate free arrival declaration and is not a visa approval. e-Pass status check is a different question again: ICA's e-Pass records Visit Pass details after arrival clearance, including the maximum stay and last day allowed.

This distinction matters because many search results blur the stages. Before travel, check Form 14A status and e-Visa retrieval. Before arrival, handle SG Arrival Card if ICA requires it. After clearing immigration, use the e-Pass route for Visit Pass details rather than treating it as a visa-application tracker.

Do not assume a fixed processing time or a hidden guarantee. ICA says applications are assessed on their own merits, and some cases can take longer, especially where documents, local-contact details, travel dates or supporting evidence need review.

The practical move is to ask the submitter to confirm that the file was actually lodged, that no further-information request is pending, and that the passport number and applicant details were entered exactly as shown on the passport. Avoid starting duplicate applications unless the official route or your submitter clearly tells you to.

Be careful with sites that ask for passport data and payment just to show a status screen. SG Arrival Card is not a visa, and a private page cannot turn an unapproved Form 14A case into an approved Singapore e-Visa. Passport-number-only status promises are especially risky when the site is not ICA, the real submitter or the authorised route that filed the case.

Use ICA, the Singapore Overseas Mission route, your genuine local contact, or the authorised agent who actually filed the case. If you are unsure whether a result is real, compare the applicant name, passport number, visa validity and issuing route before you travel.
