How to check if a Singapore e-Visa PDF is genuine

A PDF sent by an agent is not proof on its own. ICA says to retrieve the e-Visa through its SAVE Enquire Application Status service.

Open ICA SAVE directly and choose Enquire Application Status. Do not enter passport details through a link embedded in the PDF.

Enter the visa application reference number (starts VSC) and the applicant's travel-document number. The e-Visa number on the PDF starts A or K and is not the reference.

If ICA returns an approved e-Visa, compare its name, travel-document number, visa type and validity with the PDF and the passport.

Suppose the PDF shows an e-Visa number beginning A. The SAVE form asks for a visa application reference beginning VSC, so entering the A number there will not verify the document. Ask whoever submitted the application for the VSC reference from the submission acknowledgement. Then use that reference with the travel-document number used in the application. If the filer cannot provide it, use ICA's enquiry form to request the reference; keep your passport details off third-party verification forms.

If SAVE shows Pending, Request for Documents or Rejected, it has not confirmed an issued e-Visa. Ask the original filer about the result before relying on the PDF.

No application reference? Ask the original filer for it. ICA also explains how to request it through its enquiry form with the applicant's name and passport number.

If the enquiry fails or the details differ, do not rely on the PDF for travel. Recheck the numbers with the filer or ICA; a failed lookup alone does not prove forgery.
