Singapore e-Visa for Indians: what the online result actually means

For Indian ordinary-passport holders, a Singapore e-Visa is the electronic result issued after an entry-visa application is filed through a permitted route. It is not a visa-on-arrival product, and a submitted Form 14A, payment receipt or application acknowledgement is not approval.

  • Start with the current MFA New Delhi filing instructions and an appointed authorised visa agent, using the same passport details across Form 14A and the travel file.
  • Treat only the approved electronic result or printout as the e-Visa; a service payment, submission receipt or status screenshot does not replace it.
  • Check the name, passport number and validity window before travel, then carry the printout with stay and onward-travel evidence because ICA still decides entry at the checkpoint.
  • Submit the free SG Arrival Card separately before arrival; it is an arrival declaration, not the Singapore e-Visa.

India transit check: VFTF is route-specific, not a tourist visa

For Indian travellers, the transit answer depends on the exact route, onward ticket and qualifying document, not only on holding an Indian passport.

  • If VFTF is being considered, compare the itinerary and qualifying visa or long-term pass against current ICA conditions.

VFTF Singapore for Indians: check transit before Form 14A

Indian passport holders should separate ordinary Singapore entry from a Changi transit. If you clear immigration during a genuine third-country transit, ICA's 96-hour Visa-Free Transit Facility may apply only when the route, onward air/ferry/cruise ticket and qualifying visa or long-term pass all match the live ICA conditions. VFTF is not a tourist visa, not visa on arrival and not guaranteed.

How much is a Singapore visa for Indians?

The New Delhi High Commission lists INR 2,100 for visa processing and INR 1,300 for its authorised agent's service, or INR 3,400 for those two charges. This applies to that route, not every Indian passport holder. ICA's separate Singapore e-Service route lists S$30; do not add both route charges together. Check the live Mission page before paying.

Is a package price enough for Singapore visa proof?

No. A package quote can help explain the trip, but a visa file still needs consistent Form 14A details, travel dates, accommodation or host information, funds evidence and the permitted filing route. SG Arrival Card is free and separate from the visa.

Does my passport need minimum validity?

Your passport should be valid for at least six months from your date of entry into Singapore. ICA may request additional documents case by case.

Is the Singapore e-Visa a stamp in my passport?

No. For Indian applicants, Singapore issues the visa electronically. If approved, you carry the printed e-Visa with your passport; ICA still makes the final entry decision at the checkpoint.

Do Indians need a visa for Singapore?

Yes. Indian citizens and Indian ordinary passport holders need a Singapore entry visa before ordinary short visits. Diplomatic, official and service passports are treated differently. Do Indian citizens need both a visa and SG Arrival Card?

In ordinary short-visit travel, Indian ordinary passport holders need a Singapore entry visa before travel, and most travellers who clear immigration also submit the free SG Arrival Card before arrival. Verify both requirements on ica.gov.sg before you fly.

Can Indians use Singapore's 96-hour VFTF?

Indian nationals may use ICA's 96-hour VFTF only when transiting to or from a third country, departing Singapore by air or sea within 96 hours, and holding a visa or long-term pass from Australia, Canada, Germany, Japan, New Zealand, Switzerland, the United Kingdom or the United States that is valid for at least one month from entry. ICA publishes a narrow direct-return exception for a used Single Journey Visa; do not assume it applies. VFTF is not pre-approved, and ICA decides entry at the checkpoint.

Can I reapply after a rejection?

Check the date of the visa rejection. ICA accepts appeals through its enquiry form within one month. Ask the original filer about the required documents and the Singapore local contact's role. ICA does not disclose refusal reasons; if you apply again, correct verifiable errors without assuming a mandatory waiting period or a known cause.

Does ICA guarantee a fixed processing time for Indian applications?

No. ICA gives three working days excluding submission day, while the New Delhi High Commission generally gives three to five working days for its authorised-agent route, also excluding submission day, weekends and public holidays. Some cases take longer. Check the guidance for the route you will use.

Can I check Singapore visa status with only my passport number?

Do not rely on passport number alone as a universal status check. The permitted submitter usually needs the application reference and passport details through ICA's official e-Service or the filing route that submitted the Form 14A.

Can I use a selfie or cropped travel photo for Form 14A?

Do not rely on a selfie or casual crop. Use a recent passport-style photo that follows ICA's current specifications, including the background, face visibility and file rules shown on the official ICA guidance.

What is the safest application sequence from India?

Check that your passport needs a visa, prepare Form 14A in English, reconcile passport, trip and document details, submit through a permitted route, then submit the free SG Arrival Card before travel if you will clear Singapore immigration.
