Singapore visa documents checklist: what to prepare before Form 14A

A practical checklist for Singapore visit-visa applicants: passport, Form 14A, photo, bookings, funds, accommodation and the mismatches that delay applications.

A Singapore visit-visa application is only as strong as the documents behind it. The checklist is not just about having enough files; it is about having documents that agree with one another.

Start with the official ICA requirements for your travel document, then build the application around one consistent story: who is travelling, when, where they will stay, how the trip is funded, and how they will leave Singapore.

Passport and Form 14A

Your passport should be valid for at least six months beyond the intended departure from Singapore, and every identity field on Form 14A should copy the passport exactly. Watch name order, middle names, passport number, date of birth, nationality, issue date and expiry date. Do not tidy spellings or shorten names because they look long.

Photo and travel bookings

Prepare a recent passport-style colour photo on a plain white background, plus confirmed return or onward travel. The ticket should be in the applicant's own name and match the arrival and departure dates declared on the form. A search screenshot or unpaid hold is weaker than a real booking.

Accommodation, funds and local contact

Use a hotel booking that covers the full stay, or the address of the host you will actually visit. Keep funds evidence simple and explainable: recent bank statements, income proof or sponsor support that matches the trip cost. If a local contact is required, use a real person or authorised route, not a placeholder.

Where documents fall out of sync

The common delays are small contradictions: a ticket in a spouse's name, a hotel booking that ends one night early, a passport name with one spelling and a bank statement with another, or a Form 14A departure date that does not match the onward ticket.

None of those mistakes proves the trip is not genuine, but they force a reviewer to pause. That is why document review matters before submission, not after ICA has already seen the file.

Before you submit

Lay the documents side by side and check names, dates, passport numbers, addresses and contact details. Fees and procedures can change, and ICA remains the authority, so verify the current official requirement before relying on any checklist.
