Proof of funds for a Singapore visit visa: what helps
There is no magic bank balance for a Singapore visit visa. What matters is whether your funds, work, bookings and travel plan tell a believable story.
Proof of funds is not about looking wealthy. It is about showing that the trip is affordable for you and that you are visiting Singapore temporarily, without needing to work during the stay.
ICA does not publish a simple public bank-balance number for every visitor. Treat any fixed figure you see online as a rough opinion unless it comes from an official source, and verify current guidance on ica.gov.sg.
What sufficient funds means
A reviewer is looking for a sensible match between the length of the trip, the cost of flights and accommodation, your occupation, your income, and the money available to you. A short trip with paid bookings needs a different level of evidence from a long stay with no clear plan.
Bank statements that help
Recent statements are most useful when they show a steady, explainable balance and normal activity. A sudden large deposit just before applying is not automatically fatal, but it should have a clear source. If the money belongs to someone sponsoring you, the relationship and support should be documented honestly.
Employment and income evidence
Employment letters, payslips, business registration or other income proof can support the bank statements when they match the occupation and annual income declared on Form 14A. The goal is consistency: the form, funds and travel plan should all point in the same direction.
Red flags to avoid
Do not borrow money briefly to create a dramatic balance, hide the source of funds, or declare an occupation that does not fit the evidence. Weak funds are easier to explain than misleading funds, and a clean explanation is safer than a polished but inconsistent file.
How we review funds evidence
When we prepare a Form 14A case, we check whether the declared job, income, bookings and funds evidence fit together. If something looks confusing, we flag it before submission so you can clarify it or provide better support.
This review improves the clarity of the application; it does not guarantee approval. ICA may request more information, and all fee and procedure details remain subject to change, so verify the current official position before you travel.
