Singapore visa for US citizens: SG Arrival Card guide
Short answer
US ordinary passport holders usually do not need Form 14A for short Singapore visits. Use the free SG Arrival Card route and check ICA entry requirements.

For United States ordinary passport holders, the practical answer is usually no: you do not prepare a Singapore entry visa or Form 14A for an ordinary short visit. ICA's visa-required list says travellers need a valid Singapore entry visa only if their travel document is issued by one of the listed countries or places; the United States is not on that list as reviewed on 4 July 2026.
This answers only the ordinary-passport short-visit question. A refugee travel document, emergency or temporary document, or a different country's passport needs its own live check. Employment, study and residence use separate Singapore passes rather than a visitor route.
Check the travel document, not the US address
A US citizen presenting a regular US passport normally follows the visa-free short-visit route. A US permanent resident presenting a visa-required passport does not. Residence, a green card or departure from a US airport does not replace the rule attached to the passport or travel document used for entry.

If a passport was replaced after a booking or SGAC submission, update the trip records and repeat the eligibility check with the document that will be presented. Do not carry a visa or arrival declaration tied only to an old passport number and assume ICA will infer the change.
Worked case: airside connection versus entering Singapore
A traveller with an ordinary US passport has separate tickets from Los Angeles to Singapore and onward to Bali. If the airlines confirm that baggage goes through and the next boarding pass is available without immigration clearance, and the traveller stays airside, ICA's SGAC transit exception applies. Separate tickets alone do not establish whether entry is required.
If the first airline instead confirms that the traveller must clear immigration to collect baggage, or the traveller chooses to visit the city, follow the entry requirements and submit SGAC free through ICA within three days including the arrival day, before arrival. The ordinary US passport does not need a Singapore tourist-visa application solely for this stop. Check Indonesia's entry rules separately.
A business visit is not permission to take a job
An ordinary US passport may be visa-free for a genuine short business visit, but that does not create work authorisation. A person relocating to a Singapore job should follow the employer-led MOM pass and IPA instructions, not arrive as a visitor and start work.
For a meeting trip, keep the invitation, employer details, accommodation and onward plan consistent with a temporary visit. If the activity changes, check the responsible ICA or MOM route rather than relying on the passport's visa-free status.
What ICA still decides on arrival
Visa-free entry is not guaranteed entry. ICA notes that checkpoint officers decide whether a traveller may enter Singapore and how long the Visit Pass or e-Pass allows them to stay.
Carry a passport valid for the trip, a coherent return or onward plan, accommodation and evidence of the stated purpose and means. Read the e-Pass after clearance for the last permitted day; neither the return ticket nor SGAC decides the stay.
Do not pay for a US-passport tourist visa that is not required
VisatoSingapore does not file Form 14A for an ordinary US passport making an ordinary short visit because that route normally has no entry-visa application. Use the free ICA SGAC service when required.
A US resident travelling on a visa-required passport may have a separate Form 14A route. We can help prepare eligible cases, but ICA decides the visa and checkpoint entry and our service does not create work, study or residence rights.
