Do Bangladeshi travellers need a transit visa for Singapore?

VisatoSingapore Editorial TeamReviewed Aug 27, 2026

Short answer

If you stay airside at Changi and do not clear Singapore immigration, you generally do not need a Singapore entry visa or SG Arrival Card for the transit itself. Confirm with the operating airline that your baggage and boarding passes can remain airside, especially with separate tickets or a self-transfer.

If the itinerary requires you to clear Singapore immigration, a Bangladeshi passport holder needs an ordinary Singapore entry visa before travel. This includes any connection where baggage collection, re-check-in or the airline's procedure requires landside processing.

ICA's VFTF uses a closed nationality list, and Bangladeshi passports are not listed in the current guidance. Before booking, check the live ICA transit/VFTF page and confirm the exact route with the airline, because official rules and airport handling can change.

Country-specific transit check

Bangladesh transit check: airside transit and Singapore entry are different

For Bangladeshi travellers, the safest transit review starts with whether the passenger stays airside or must enter Singapore.

  • Confirm the baggage and boarding-pass flow with the airline before assuming the traveller can remain airside.
  • If the route clears immigration, prepare for the entry-visa route instead of treating it as transit only.
  • Keep SG Arrival Card timing outside the visa question; SGAC does not remove a visa requirement.

Transit next steps

Transit or Singapore entry? Choose the next check

If the traveller stays airside, this is usually an airline and transit-area question. If the route requires baggage collection, self-transfer, a stopover or immigration clearance, compare the passport with the normal Singapore entry-visa route before paying for Form 14A help.

Frequently asked

Are Bangladeshi travellers covered by Singapore's 96-hour VFTF?
ICA's current VFTF page lists CIS nationals, Georgia, India, Turkmenistan, Ukraine and holders of selected PRC travel documents. Bangladesh is not listed there, so if your route requires clearing Singapore immigration, plan for an entry visa unless ICA's live guidance changes.
